As President and Founder of Minardos Group, George Minardos possesses an impressive list of professional and academic achievements, and delivers a straightforward presentation of building-related knowledge that’s made him a trusted consultant in the building industry. George’s vision and commitment to design-centered projects continues to guide and build the Minardos Group into an institution that is unique among its peers. After completing a degree in entrepreneurial management from the Wharton School of Business and spending summers on Wall Street, George decided that Wall Street life was not for him. He returned to his native Los Angeles to obtain a degree in English literature from UCLA. He then realized that his real passion was for architecture, and started in the building business immediately after college. George is a board member for several nonprofits including the foundation he founded, Race for a Cause Charitable Trust, which raises money for environmental causes via the global sailboat racing circuit. When not working, George enjoys spending time with his wife and two young sons, along with sailing, diving, dining, traveling, art, languages and philanthropy.
As General Manager of Minardos Group, Brett Butler is responsible for overseeing all firm operations, as well as providing leadership and strategic planning and direction. In addition, Brett coordinates and aligns all activities for the Consulting, Building, Development and Estate Care groups, ensuring ongoing consistency in both product and process. Brett, whose grandfather is a contractor and brother an architect, began working in construction during summers while attending Emory University in Atlanta, where he earned a degree in anthropology. He has worked with George Minardos for more than a decade, during which time Brett has worked his way up through the ranks including holding the positions of superintendent, project manager and controller. Outside of work, Brett enjoys spending time with his family, backpacking and “perpetually remodeling my house.”
Senior Project Manager for Minardos Group, Larry Adkins is responsible for project supervision at the highest level, managing, mentoring and training all building staff. Larry ensures a smooth construction process and successful completion for every project by implementing a standardized project delivery method, attending to every detail, and maintaining a high standard of communication. Larry has been in the construction business since his junior high school years, when he spent summers working on job sites with his uncles, gaining experience in concrete, framing and finish carpentry. Following high school, he earned a degree in automotive and diesel technology, and proceeded to work on a team that built one of racing’s fastest diesel-powered cars. Larry then served for two years in the military police in Operation Desert Storm, after which he returned to construction and the “satisfaction of being outside and building something.” He owned his own construction firm for a time, with billings ranging from $10-$15 million, then ran Selko Structures in the San Fernando Valley for two years, just prior to joining MInardos Group. Happily married to his high school sweetheart, Larry enjoys paintball, camping, hiking and fishing with his wife and two sons. He’s also a devoted fan of his oldest son’s track and field activities.
